random, but that's why we're here eh...I was wondering, are there any music groups that:
- have an idol aesthetic
- have an idol sound
- play their own instruments, or at least produce their own music and can perform it live in some way (instead of the produced background tracks most idol groups have)
in universe, the bandori group pastel palettes is this, but IRL the group doesn't actually exist? it's studio only, I think. made me wonder if there are others in that concept
band-maid hits points 1 and 3, but they're not an idol sound at all, for example

I know some idol boy groups who play instruments, write songs, produce songs, or all three. But I'm not familiar with many girl groups like that.
@lookitmychicken guy groups works too! which groups are you thinking of? :) especially curious about those that play their own instruments!
@ojou oh! well, for boy bands playing instruments on stage, I like The Rose and Day6.
Stray Kids write and produce almost all their own songs, and create a lot of the music too (although they tend to have other people do the bulk of the arrangements for them). They don't play instruments themselves on stage though.
