Old piece for a fanzine dedicated to Mitsuru and Kokoro from "DARLING in the FRANXX!" I wanted to experiment this time with some sort of color blocking illusion ^^)v I also wanted to make it look a bit like an old ad too, iirc. I know I experimented with a LOT of Clip Studio Paint brushes and painting differently, as well…

A family is shown against a backdrop where the young man is sleeping on the couch with their daughter. She's drooling and reaching to the sky in her sleep, while he has his hands around her. The young woman is wrapping a blanket around them, to make them more comfortable. This is an image where the white bright background becomes part of the floor and blanket; in other words, the vast amount of white negative space helps bring these characters to the forefront more. These are characters from Darling in the Franxx: Kokoro, Mitsuru and their daughter Ai.

I have a ton of crossovers but I'll throw out a "recent" one! (2018) Oh My Goddess with Darling in the Franxx!

The first picture has the character Zorome from Darling in the Franxx asking someone "W-would you be my friend?" The second picture features Belldandy from the series Oh My Goddess!/Ah! My Goddess, who we find is the person who was asked the question. She appears to be a little stunned.

Belldandy is singing and oblivious, while Zorome has stopped and is giving the stink-eye to...a bug! Specifically a computer bug as personified in the series Oh My Goddess!, where Belldandy is from. There's a question mark above Zorome's head, as the bug is just, you know, chilling out. Nothing bad will happen here. Zorome's slippers are very cute fox-like designs.
Another colored pencil sketch, with the pencil sketch cleaned up. This is more of a "proper" illustration, complete with shading and effects. Scene at the Tarikihongan Temple where Belldandy and her family live, with Miku behind her in one of the rooms as Bell is outside on the porch. Miku looks on with pity and sympathy, a small solemn smile on her face, as she looks on the scene in front of her: Belldandy sitting down and wrapping a sleeping Zorome with a shawl of sorts. Belldandy looks happy however, almost content. Zorome is sleeping on her lap, his hand out to the side in his certain position while his body is mostly on the porch, with his upper half on her lap. The size difference is noticeable.
