Fer most a' the 20th century, increasin' productivity meant increasin' profits. So capitalism encouraged technological advancement.
But here's the thing: Capitalism can never allow productivity to get so high that there is essentially post-scarcity. Because post-scarcity, supply far exceedin' demand, means no profit.
So capitalism must, as a matter a' survival, suppress or corrupt technology through monopolies and law.

We have now entered a scientific era where humanity cannot further progress without removing capitalism. Capitalism and post-scarcity tech cannot co-exist.
