Xichen's had a blind spot for Guangyao for... what, twenty years? Before the Wen battles, anyway. And in his own twisted way, Guangyao does have sincere feelings for Xichen.
@kelexyn1203 the clan elders have pissed me off since the beginning. Like, yes, rules are important but mindlessly following rules is not the way. Lan Zhan is smart and sensible and he sees that despite him being apparently so rigid in his ways.
And about Yuan... It makes so much sense. So he's protecting the kid. I suppose at some point it will be revealed to Wei Ying. Omg, I can just imagine the relief aaaaa
@kelexyn1203 and yeah, Xichen was always genuinely kind to Jin Guangyao. He never looked down on him for his origin. And unfortunately, Guangyao is very very clever, very deceiving and cunning. Not for nothing he could become Chief Cultivator

You're in the home stretch. Once you get to the revelation of the Golden Core incident, shit picks up FAST. I THINK it happens just prior to the cave incident, and tbh, if you ask me, that's when the threads started to knit together for me and I had a ton of OH SHIT THAT'S WHAT THAT WAS moments
PS, you are absolutely going to sob over the A-Yuan revelation, I swear.

@carm_kuryakin Xingchen and Xue Yang is kind of Heartbreaking for me, because it's obvious that Xue Yang is all 31 flavors of fucked up, but Xingchen is literally the only person who could offer redemption. Even when Xue Yang was at his worst, Xingchen had understanding. He actually told XY that he would have understood if he'd cut off the man's finger or hand, but he went too far.
He's batshit crazy, but he's pitiable. If it wasn't for Wei Wuxian having a loving family, that would be him.
Yeah, their story is so sad. I think I mentioned before at some point about Xue Yang literally not knowing how to not be cruel bc no one was kind to him before, ever. So, his affection is so twisted. And totally, despite Madame Yu's treatment, Wei Ying was taken care of, he has been treated with kindness, he's been loved and had a chance to not grow full of resentment and that's an enormous difference in the outcome

all shipping aside, I think that's one of the important things about The Untamed and how they frame love, from clan/familial, to friendships and brotherhood, to soul mates (and that's arguably separate from carnal/amorous love) and the intimation is that WWX is the Untamed, but he isn't. It's the combination of him and Wangji that is actually Untamed because they have all the layers of of love. If WWX didn't love so much and strongly, he would never survive demonic cultivation.
