All my garden planters are portable enough that I've been able to move them away from the sunniest part of the balcony, to try to give them some shade and protection from the 41 degrees celsius maximum expected today in Melbourne. Even the big garden tower has heavy duty castors and is surprisingly easy to move.
I spent a good chunk of yesterday reorganising and updating one of my favourite playlists, and it felt healing.
Finally sorted out my diffuser and essential oils, so my place smells lovely. Today's scent: boronia
@lookitmychicken oof 41C is ROUGH. Stay cool and I hope you've got electrolytes!!
@inoru_no_hoshi it's rough but I have good aircon.
A few years ago we had a 47C day. I had to go outdoors for a bit and it felt like being on an alien planet.
@lookitmychicken hrggghhh yeah, honestly over 40C it all starts getting into nonsense numbers and definitely too hot for smart people to be out and about during like... 9am-5pm hours at minimum.
Couple summers back there was this like 3 week heatwave where every day was 40C+ and the highest Official temp we got was 118F/~47.7C but pur porch thermometer said 120F/48.8C (or higher? I don't remember...) *in the shade*. (That summer was unpleasant.)
