Random question that I'm throwing out into the universe:
If you work at a multi-storey parking garage, and someone's car alarm goes off, and the car owner is not there, what do you do?
This question comes to you from a person who lives across from a multi-storey parking garage.
@lookitmychicken OH NO. I have no answers for you but much sympathy!
@soph_sol
Ahaha it happens often enough that it doesn't really bother me. Mostly just idle curiosity.
@lookitmychicken my solution: don't work at a multi-story parking garage.
But fr tho I can only assume they have to go try to find the car that's screaming if it doesn't cut off in x seconds (because sometimes owners fumble) just to check on it or... idk something. Sounds too much.
@inoru_no_hoshi
But once they've found it, what do they dooooo?
My guess: glare at it.
@lookitmychicken seems legit. Idk what else they could do unless it's valet parking.
@lookitmychicken call for a tow to deactivate the alarm? or there might be a security guard that can do it
@whimwitch
I won't do anything about it myself, I'm not especially bothered by it. I'm just curious.
This is a really big parking garage (11 levels) and I think it's staffed 24 hours. So there will always be someone around whose job it is to figure out what to do.
@lookitmychicken does that mean someone tried to break into the car or hit it with their own car?
@gnocchi
Usually it means one of those things. I've never had a car with an alarm, so I don't know much about what sets it off.
