Working on a couple of 3' x 4' garden planter boxes today. About time too. The seeds I planted last week are already sprouting.
I don't make them very tall, these are around a foot high. But that's enough if you have a garden seat and it means they don't blow out quite as easily as a taller one.
#Weather continues sunny and warm and the forecast promises the same through Sunday. The grass in my fields has noticed and is suddenly growing like crazy – mowing time soon methinks.

A list of notes on the chaos in the NOAA from the Live Chat by Weather West (Dr. Daniel Swain):
Staff in the Sacramento NWS office is critically understaffed. Monterey office has lost people and are understaffed. Weather balloons to gather vital info twice a day are not being launched due to understaffing, which will degrade weather forecasting. In Canduca (sp?) Kentucky the building of the weather office cannot pay for backed up toilets and all maintenance has been fired. Plus, it forced staff to use an outside porta potty in an active hurricane warning. Hazardous wastes trained staff have been fired and now offices have been shut down due to no one being able to safely dispose of the waste. Some staff have been fired 3x with the firings and rehiring. US global change research program on observed and expected impact of climate change report--the company doing the report were fired, even though it was congressionally mandated.
At 4 PM Weather West (Dr. Daniel Swain) is discussing the impacts of the destruction of the National Oceanographic Atmospheric Association and the National Weather Service.

Just finished doing my taxes, a day early, and am now free to spend the rest of the day outside enjoying the beautiful April #weather. Except now I'm completely drained of all energy because doing taxes; for two reasons:
1. The stakes are high, if you fuck up it can be costly and take a long time to fix
2. Although I am good at numbers and dealing with complexity, I have issues when I don't understand the REASON for the complexity; see also 'Social Security Benefits Worksheet'

The National Weather Service stopped offering Spanish language alerts, so we’re starting them.
https://wx.watch is now available in both English and Spanish for the **entire United States**. Currently, alert descriptions and instructions are English only, but we’re working on a solution for that too. #wx #weather
